I got tired of the glitches with the Shumatech DRO 350 ... bought a
relatively inexpensive unit that uses glass scales . I have mounting for
the X and Y axes figured out , but the Z is going to be interesting .
The DRO 350 used capacitive scales , and a 6" caliper worked just swell
for it . This scale is totally different ... but hey , I've got stock
and tools !

Is new DRO day as exciting as new tool day?

Well , a DRO is a tool ... I'm really looking forward to having
accurate location data . The Shumatech unit has had problems since I
built it . The best I can say about it is it was better than nothing -
once you learned to work around stuff like .200" jumps in the middle of
a cut .
