A Scherr-Tumico inside micrometer this time . Looks like one of the
rods might be missing , hope it's not the one I need for the project on
my bench . It should be here by Monday .

Well, I was cleaning out my dad's old Rem-Line machinist box (he was
never a machinist), and I found a Mitutoyo inside mic with all the rods
for the set.

My dad was an electronic instrument tech in the air force (4 years) and
a handyman the rest of his life... well and a hardware store owner and a
grocery store owner.

I figured what the hell , I'm on a roll as far as tooling purchases .
Snap gauges are all good and fine , but it gets confusing sometimes when
mapping an out of round/belled cylinder . Translation : I'm gettin' lazy
in my old age . This one looks like it would be pretty easy to fabricate
a missing rod , and I have a couple of pieces of O1 drill rod the right
size .
